We woke up this morning in the guest room of my mother-in-law’s apartment in Bothell. Peering through the blinds, we were greeted with an amazing sunrise just beginning to crest the horizon. I threw on some clothes, grabbed my camera – which I’d even debated bringing in the first place – and snapped a few pics.
Suffice it to say, I’m glad I decided to pack the camera, even if it was my small point-and-shoot instead of the Nikon I love so much.
Had a nice, quick trip up to Bothell and back. Tracy and Tara made eggs Benedict for breakfast that turned out fabulous. We met up with Anne in Tukwila in the afternoon for what was either a very late lunch or a very early dinner, depending on how you look at the clock. (2:30 is sort of the weirdest time of the day to eat a meal, don’t you think?) Oh, and my nephew Anthony clung to me the whole visit. I have to admit, that was pretty endearing (at least when he wasn’t tugging at my face while I was trying to eat my lunner (hey, name issue resolved!)) We hit the road for the three-hour drive home just after sundown and got back around 8:30. Gotta admit, I’m jazzed that we still have an entire weekend ahead of us.
Oh, and despite the hustle and bustle of an out-of-town trip, I still managed to knock out 1,000 words today. That’s another win.

Loving that growing total. You can totally do this.
Also, I love the shot. While my body prefers witnessing sunsets to sunrises, I can’t help thinking they are equally beautiful.

My first inclination is to say that I prefer a good sunset over a sunrise myself, but really, they are both equally stunning. And this time of year, it’s easy to catch both.

Gorgeous…..GORGEOUS sunrise photo, Mark! As you know, I’m more of a night person than a day person. But I have to say, over the past few years I’ve been going to bed earlier than usual, so I’m rising earlier than usual; therefore catching some AMAZING sunrises. One morning during the summer, I just so happened to wake up around 5 AM. So instead of trying to go back to sleep, I decide to get up, make myself a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise. That morning I photographed the most beautiful city sunrise I had ever seen.
So yeah, I’m learning how to appreciate sunrises as well as sunsets.
